    Garage on Chyandour Cliff

That's interesting. If the Mr Foulkes Symons55 referred to was Harry, then I knew him and his sons well, as I lived near them. I was a friend of his younger son, Reggie, but also knew Alec. Since leaving for Australia many moons ago, I have lost contact. Do you know if Reggie is still around...

Re: Sea Urchins For a few years I lived in the bottom house in Belgravia Street which almost backed on to the workshop which housed the sea urchin cleaning operation. The stench at times was disgusting and I don't how the council allowed such an activity in a residential area. Complaints fell...

I have doubts about it being an Australian picture; most companies here are Pty Ltd and not Co Ltd . Just a thought!

It looks like a grevilleas of the Proteaceae family, which grow in all over Australia. I was born and raised in a house in Penare Road, and the only coastguard building that I can recall was at the end of Thornberry Terrace and Britons hill.

A German supermarket had a British week selling all kinds of food we don't usually see in Australia. Tasting Black Jacks and sherbet fountains was a trip back in time (a very long time!)

I remember that slaughterhouse, too, and seeing blood in the gutters outside. Horrible.

It's different now to when I lived in that area in the early 70s, so it's odds-on that it will change again.

I remember coming home from Lescudjack infants school one lunchtime and going up into the attic of our house in Penare Road and having my first look at all the warships. I was, as they say these days, gobsmacked! It was a great sight.
