Thanks pzm. I recall from someone I met in St. Ives who was up on their local history that the Sloop was rebuilt in the 17th century. However I was reliably informed that this stone was not part of that build and was from another building. treeve is this true?
I do not know the history of The Sloop, but it would not take a great deal to find the marriage recorded; that is what I see, a stone marker of a gifted house to a young couple. Key of the Door as it were.
