Could this be Vellansaga Cross on the minor road between Tregadwith and Penmenor, 1 and a bit miles from St Buryan Churchtown? It s the only incised cross I can think of though I can see no granite house nearby unless the angle has done the job.
PZM is correct. Now check out difference between my 3 year old or so photo and that of Bay of Plenty s. They are the same but the inscribed cross is so different. Sun was throwing shadow across but they look so different! On footpath 11 intersect with Caer Bran track.
I have since looked at a book of crosses and looked at Brane Cross only to find it looks nothing like it does in this pic. I nearly mentioned the one outside Crows an Wra (Penzance side) seen from the main road but I think this is a different one, or is it? Well done PZM!
Bay of Plenty has a pic, the gorse is different, but some of the finer points are the same, smallmarks lichen etc. The reservoir is behind, it looked so different the last time I was there, it is in that lane because I was checking out the bridleway that runs to the south of Caer bran ( bridleway 18 117 parish) Boswarthan Mine area.!!!
