Enter ye who dare!

You've heard about 'Watergate', now how about 'Whitegate'? For three points, what famous character lives within?
I know my comments may have amused you, CW, but ....well, there's a lot of history in this house. A former inhabitant was so well respected as to have been buried by the altar in Kingston Church, having died in Jamaica back in 1709 but was a major benefactor for his fellows back home whom he never forgot. Those who have dwelt in this house since then may not be quite as illustrious but the latest owner is well known around here and this person is the one I want to know about, as well as proof that the location of the habitation is recognised.

Interesting 'stuff' as the modern vernacular has it, Treeve. Are you participating in the Leader Board for this, by the way?

Not in the Leaderboard Running at all. I made that decision a long time back; besides what with computer failure, erstwhile broadband problems, and other problems including the newly risen health situation that needs a lot of attention, I simply cannot. As Salome said, got enough on my plate already.

Just to add to it the Vista PC is failing a number of times ... looks like that is ready for the bin.

Back to XP Treeve, Vista is rubbish, mind you it wasn't 'till XP was superceded before I switched to it.::11:

Vista collapses right under me as I am typing. Then reports that the computer has improperly closed for an unknown reason; well it is as sure as eggs that I do not know. Seventh time now. Besides all the other programme collapses - Windows does not know the reason - whoopeedoo. All the time I get reports that this or other panel has stopped working. Admiral Wager would not put up with this. Off to the Colonies.
