ex Argus, 1904, became Peninnis in 1920
Built in 1904, Fishery Protection Vessel 'Argus', by Bow, McLachlan and Company, Paisley triple expansion steam engines, by fabricators; 380 tons; 12.4 knots, armed 2x6lb guns; 1914-18 war transferred to Royal Navy - renamed Argon; 1920 - sold out to William Henry Ward, Essex and refitted for passenger carriage; named Peninnis - 219 gross tons. Gave six years service, until the Scillonian was completed in 1926. (130ft x 23ft 2ins x 11ft 6ins).
