seen this and photographed - my only hope was dashed as to the reasons and meaning of the letters by the fact that they did not even know they were in Truro.. the marks and curbs predate the gas supply in some areas, but not in others, I have been asked by many for help, which rather points to the fact that in Penzance it is not known. Maybe in the many notes and histories I have yet to read.
