Where is this to be found?

Yes but where? Has no-one spotted this before. It s a gem in terms of an early worked stone, I think. And what s the chap carrying in his right and left hands? Who is the chap? For the stone s whereabouts try thinking east and near the coast!

Under his left arm it is believed that he is carrying a box of relics (c.p. St Petroc s casket which was stolen a few years ago) and he holds a Bishop s staff in the other hand. I am a little disappointed at the response to this important stone! This stone was used as an illustration for a book which is about Christianity in Cornwall and the chap depicted is supposed to be a Bishop. It s another case of checking out parish churches!

I may not yet have answered, but the grey cells are being racked; I am not familiar with this figure.

Perranuthnoe. It is absolutely years since I have been in there, must be 38 years, I guess.

Can you really be up now still, Treeve! You re as bad as me! Perranuthnoe is perfectly correct so feel pleased with yourself!

Proper job; we had a hay day when we were restoring St Austell Church, never seen so many saints, and because the stonework was so badly decayed, we had problems in identifying them; I had to do some research to discover the symbolism and the objects they were carrying, it is all very specific. Forgotten it all now, of course.
