Where?

Where is this?
Thankyou ... The building used to have a set of dovecotes on the main facade.

If you mean the building down Trewithen Road, then it appears to be a good use of glass; they appear to be keeping the trees (despite the badly done pollarding) and the stone wall. I suspect that detailing will come under scrutiny as the building ages and the trees and macro climate take a hold on walls and roof treatment. I cannot really comment on the design as a whole, because I have not been able to see it. It is not such an intrusion as some of the carbuncles here, nor is it an abuse of tradition or vernacular. Well that is what I think ... ::15:

Yes, I neither like nor dislike it intensely. I am a sucker for straight lines and right angles generally, so this building doesn t offend me aesthetically. Contrasting it with other modern buildings, it could come out quite favourably.

I was raised through proper proportions, massing, scale and texture, learned that classical details and proportions worked (and have worked for thousands of years), I learned that modern does not have to be crass or ugly or expensive, I learned that everything can be solved. Architecture does not have to mean the anhiliation of good taste or the destruction of our hertitage. As with Zen, the space between is as important as the objects either side. God Bless Us All .... where s the turkey and cranberry? ....
