Army in Penzance - looks @ 1st World War. I think it's Penzance (it's in a Penzance envelope) - can someone confirm location. It's a Gibson and Sons photo.
Alexandra Terrace, marching by the site of the present Boating Pool; definitely around 1914, my grandfather s uniform was just like those fine lads are wearing. Remarkable.
Well, the leading officer is wearing a black arm band; there appears to be something at the gateway that was there. I see a photographer with a cape over his head recording the scene on plate. The procession appears to be coming from Lariggan House? Or maybe not? I seem to remember that there was a picture of a horse drawn hearse outside Alexandra Terrace on here?
I hadn t noticed the arm-band Treeve, that is consistent with the slow-march. I also recall a hearse with military escort posted a while ago and wondered if this might be linked.
