Second from the left in the back row is M. Sheppard. Next to him is T. Mathews (?). At the right end of the back row is P. Murrish. Front row from the left: T. Jasper; D. Jory; H. Giles; A. Murley; M. Barnicoat; O. Williams; Mr. Harvey. I think the lad on the left of the back row is Richards.

So help me, the guy on the left back was a great mate of mine, but the name has gone into the mists of time; Tony Jasper was a good friend, became a Minister and writer.

Why I can t think of left back I don t know because he appears on all athletics photos as well. Sheppard was always the Javelin throwe.r

This photograph would have been taken during the Summer Term in 1956 - ie. at the end of the academic year that began in Sept. 1955. The original is mounted on a board with the heading 1955 along with the others in this folder.

There ought to be a Polglase and an Osborne as they are recorded in Penwithian winter 1956 for their Batting averages - as well the others.

That s put the cat amongst the pigeons!! Unless Richards? and/or Matthews? in the list of names already provided are Polglase and /or Osborne?

Murley was Captain it says and Giles was Vice-Captain and Secretary, can t explain all the names, possible they had reserves? Oh it looks like Treloar played on April 28th and May 12th but not mentioned again.
