I know you know where this is!!!

Picture supplied by Pat Wildman
Yes, but I wonder where it was when the holed stone was first set in place? A burial chamber, a sun worship temple, something more mundane but practical?

The stones have been moved from the Borlase description, but the four stones have all been here, apparently together from the Bronze Age; a naturally holed stone? no, but why eight sides? it could be a part of a calendar system, or a forseeing device , this has been used to pass through to cure ailments, though it is not necessarily its original purpose. The site has not been fully investigated.

Not sure whan that custom started, but the two outer stones were aligned in 1815 (or rather one of them was moved to become aligned); this is one of just two examples of holed stones in Britain (not including those holed stones where the holes are much too small to pass a human); a handful of holed stones are found in Europe at burial sites. This stone is unique in the fact of the eight sides.
