What's supposed to be special about this slab?

The longest single piece of granite ever quarried and worked. Municipal Buildings (known as St John s Hall)
 
Absolutely right! And yet Aberdeen is called the granite capital of Britain I was once told (Or was it Inverness?). Anyway, we have our fair share of granite here. A Galician I know was amazed at how similar the granite here is to that in N.W. Spain, by the way!
 
I know one or two Celts on this website who aren t averse to getting stoned. As a result, their visages begin to have the aspect of granite! ::6: And they tend to bring their resources with them to rugby matches! ::15:
