Tis the Regent, from down Custom House Lane; there was an old Custom House IN Custom House Lane, before the three were built near Quay Street; the building so called Old Custom House in Chapel Street was built AFTER all of those.
When I went up to the Newcastle on Tyne Museum last year, I was rather imagining that the town would be run-down and grimey - I could not have been more wrong ... it is beautiful and all the details and the buildings have been preserved, as well as providing a good environment which incorporates shops and offices. I feel ashamed when I see details like this rotting away.
