I still think that the C is in the entrance of what is now a garage where there are also two flat squares seemingly where there were once pillars and looking from here outwards into Quay Street where there were once granite cottages before the pink flats were built?
Did I say it was not Quay Street? ::15: I will add that this entrance has been here a long time. You are in the right place ... so, how many stone C and what would you be looking at ahead of you (not the present garage doors) in 1965?
I believe there may be two Cs and if standing here in 1965 before Custom House Court was erected, your view would be of the official Penzance Custom House.
